Circa Early 1900's Antique Hawkeye Refrigerator Basket. The lid says Hawkeye Burlington, Iowa. For the age, the condition of this basket is amazing with Copper ice holder..though some separation to the lid and some rust spotting to the interior tin and separation from basket...overall wear on the rattan. This basket is made of strong, smooth rattan stained mahogany brown. The lid and bottom are made of hardwood.
Supposedly these baskets were used on the back of a Model T or Model A... The icw goes in the Copper holder and in 1906 Advertising of the Hawkeye basket said "that a small chuck of ice could keep the whole thing cold for a very long time!"
