Note. Transition is NOT a primer, does NOT seal against resin or tannin bleed through, should be used on surfaces ready for acrylic paints. Transition does NOT have the same adhesion qualities or top-coat durability as Fusion Mineral Paint and should be used in BETWEEN coats of Fusion Mineral Paint.
Fusion's Transition - High Hiding Coverage is the perfect product to use when transitioning DIY projects from a dark color to a light color, and is a great cost savings!
While Fusion has excellent adhesion with a top-coat built in, Fusion Mineral Paint has never been advertised as a "one-coat and done type of paint." Some Fusion colors, such as Picket Fence and Casement, may require more than one coat going when from a darker color to a lighter color - this is where Transition shines!
Transition is a high quality acrylic tinted with 100% recycled waste pigment. Since each batch is unique, shades of this neutral grey will vary with production.
Going from a dark surface to a light color, using Transition in a "sandwich technique" will save you time and money. Made from recycled pigments, this economical coating has a high hiding feature, however not the same adhesive qualities as our premium Fusion Mineral Paint.
How to use. For best results use only 1 coat of Transition in a sandwich technique between 2 coats of Fusion Mineral Paint. Apply only 1 coat of Transition to your already Fusion painted surface, and then sandwich with your favorite Fusion color on top of the Transition.
Recommended Sandwich Technique. 1 (and only one) coat of your Fusion Color (as first/base coat, let dry) -> 1 (and only one) coat of Transition (let dry) -> Your Fusion Color on top.
Can you use it as its own paint color? It is not recommended to be used on its own as it does not contain the exact same adhesive and protective qualities as our high-grade Fusion Mineral Paint.
